Navigating Foot Stress
The stress endured by an athlete's feet, especially in disciplines demanding high impact, must be judiciously managed.
While stress is indispensable for structural adaptation and strengthening, its regulation is critical to prevent overuse injuries.
Progressive overload techniques, where stress intensity and volume are methodically increased, allow the body to adapt incrementally.
This strategy fosters resilience and fortification in the foot's bones, muscles, and tendons, ensuring sustainable athletic development.
Think of it this way... if the foot is overstressed (or too weak), it creates an imbalance in the ankle, knee, all the way up the chain in order to compensate for the failure in the foot. Not good!
